Born in London, Riona studied Fine Art and Botanical Illustration at Chelsea. Her work has been exhibited globally and used to record rare and indigenous plant, insect and animal life. Recent projects include drawings for the British Virgin Islands National Parks in collaboration with Kew Gardens.

She is currently living with her growing family in Jersey, Channel Islands. Latest projects can be seen at the CCA Gallery and Jersey Arts Centre.
